J & J Street Eats

My name is Joshua Jordan chef and owner of J & J Street Eats were we serve up the most authentic Cajun food. I started cooking in Louisiana at the age of 10 years old. I have always loved to cook and seeing the smiles on peoples faces when they eat my food. I did not go to culinary school just learned from my mother and grandmother. I started out professionally in the Big Bear Bakery as a doughnut fryer. When Big Bear closed, I worked with Chef Micheal Brady at Zuppa Catering and Bakery learning pastries and cakes. I left Zuppa to buy into the Queen Bee Diner in downtown Columbus until it was closed. I then went to Giant Eagle and was lead baker. I went into law enforcement and got away from cooking until my beautiful wife told me to do what makes me happy and supported me in the new adventure of opening a food truck which J & J Street Eats was born. The goal is to use this trailer for a year and then buy a food truck and use both for more locations. Beth and I welcome you to our truck Red Plate Blue Plate Truck. We serve what we call Southern Coastal Cuisine. Think about the rich farm lands of the Carolinas meeting the shores of the Atlantic. The food heritage of this region is strong and offers fresh whole foods that have sustained generations. Fresh vegetables, greens, shrimp, grits, beans and rice. These basic foods are tasty, healthy and very filling. We take the time and effort to prepare good tasty food.

By day Red Plate Blue Plate serves breakfast and a coastal Southern cuisine lunch to office buildings/ call centers / sites in Columbus . At night the truck switches to a HEAT (Healthy, Economical, And Tasty) dollar style menu in Northland & North Linden Lovin people by servin tasty food! Join us for shrimp & grits, a fried Shrimp Po Boy Sandwich, a grilled Chicken Po Boy Sandwich or a hand built all beef corn dog.
